As a world leader in the design and manufacturing industry, Active Dynamics is seeking an eager enthusiastic experienced Kitting Supervisor to join our successful Toronto team immediately. We are looking for a talent with solid professional skills in the manufacturing environment. The Kitting Supervisor‘s role is primarily responsible for the day-to-day safety, quality and efficiency of the kitting department including warehousing, material movement and completing kits for welding with 100% accuracy.The supervisor will direct and supervise the Kitting personnel to ensure that production requirements and customer expectations are met. Keeps production team and management informed of any material concerns on quality, quantity or any other issues that may affect the build plan. This position reports to the Warehouse Manager.What you will be doing:

  • Ensure that all kitting is completed accurately, and by the build plan.
  • Responsible for the accuracy of the” in process”, “purchased part”, and “component” level inventories.
  • Responsible for material storage layout, proper identification, labelling and storage of all material received in the kitting department.
  • Follow-up and investigation of all inventory discrepancies within the possession of the kitting department.
  • Keep the production team and management informed of any material concerns on quality, quantity or any other issues that may affect plant efficiency or jeopardize the build schedule.
  • Manage, direct and train the Inventory and Kitting personnel, which include unionized employees.
  • Develop new methods, systems, policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective operations of scheduling activities.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement of the Department (plant operations) and encourage the participation of the kitting personnel in attaining Cost Reduction Goals.
  • Oversee the communication and coordination with all other departments about scheduling issues, available capacity and projected completion dates of orders.
  • Complete all required report-outs and metrics as defined by Management.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
What you bring along:
  • Post-secondary education in a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Minimum grade 12 completed.
  • A minimum of 5+ years’ experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience managing employees in a unionized facility.
  • Verbal and written communication skills, including presenting and facilitating team meetings.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and successfully manage multiple responsibilities.
  • ERP systems experience a must and proficient with Microsoft Office
