Job Description

InVision is a Professional Recruitment Firm specializing in Engineering, Industrial/Skilled Trades, Information Technology and Professional Services within Canada and the U.S. We have a successful track record working on both small and large recruitment projects, across North America.Our client is a leading manufacturer. The Manager, Facilities and Maintenance, Toronto, is responsible for the supervision of the building and maintenance operations including controls and procedures required to properly maintain the building and all production related equipment.Hands on abilities to complete some of the maintenance requirements an asset.Responsibilities:

  • Supervises and coordinates activities engaged in installing, repairing and maintaining machinery and equipment
  • Develops and administers plant and equipment preventative maintenance program to ensure maximum equipment capacity is available to produce the highest quality components
  • Maintains the required parts inventory for the equipment repairs and operating supplies
  • Works closely with all the managers and supervisors to ensure production requirements are met and with minimum down time
  • Develops and maintains the Maintenance budget including the administration of the annual Capital expenditure program for building and equipment.
  • Coordinates the activities of all the contractors working on site and any activities related to any project implementation
  • Assures compliance to all building and safety codes.
  • Accountable for adherence of OHS & practices and policies
  • Chair and key member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee
  • Works closely with the suppliers to ensure fair business practices
  • Develops and maintains the plant security systems and procedures
  • Supervises a small team of facilities, maintenance and machine shop personnel on 3 shifts
  • Develops solutions to production, process and facilities problems.
  • Measures and reports weekly, monthly and annual department performance of the facilities maintenance
Qualifications:
  • University Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with engineering, manufacturing and distribution operations in an industrial environment, however 10 years experience is preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing a health & safety program and program
  • Knowledge of CNC machines
  • Knowledge of current Ontario health and safety practices and procedures, with a focus on equipment maintenance and lockout procedures
  • Experience in the management of and adherence to an ISO 14001 (EMS) based Environmental Management Plan
  • Creative problem-solving skills, conflict management within different organizations (centralized and matrix organizational structures)
  • Ability to break down complex problems in a simplified way, conduct root cause analysis and provide clear, well thought-out recommendations.
  • Strong, team-oriented leadership skills with presence and a bias for action.
  • Self-directed with ability to work autonomously and collaboratively and a focus on results.
  • Ability to communicate in an open and authentic manner in all situations
