Job Description

Job DescriptionThe Marker Maker is responsible for creating and distributing markers for Canada Goose and all its vendors. This position is accountable for creating markers with the Gerber Accumark System to achieve the best material utilization possible. Markers are tailored to specific Purchase Orders and the cutting-room standards of individual vendors.What You’ll Do:

  • Create and update Proto sample markers and production markers in the Gerber Accumark system.
  • Create markers for best material utilization while respecting pattern and fabric quality boundaries.
  • Plan bulk cutting based on production purchase order and style release information.
  • Follow-up style Pattern/Marker revisions and updates.
  • Plot and/or prepare electronic files for individual vendors/MPOs according to the timelines on the Marker Production Schedule.
  • Calculating fabric consumption for bulk cutting, costing and material ordering purposes.
  • Working with plotters, changing plotter paper, and tracking of plotters’ utilization.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of plotters.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Let #39;s Talk About You:
  • College Degree or Diploma in apparel design and manufacturing.
  • 2-3 years’ experience in marker making.
  • 2-3 years experience using Gerber Accumark, experience with other CAD systems an asset.
  • 2-3 years experience working with cutting rooms, familiarity with both auto and manual cutting.
  • Knowledge of pattern makingamp; sewing is an asset.
  • Experience with outerwear garments is an asset.
  • Ability work independently, with little supervision.
  • Strong computer skills - Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Should be organized, detail oriented, team player, multi-task oriented.
  • Effective communicationamp; interpersonal skills required to build relationships across the business.
