Our customers love both our selection and working with our team.The PVF Quotations Specialist will work as a member of a team dedicated to profitably growing PVF project business at Independent Mechanical Supply. Project business can come from multiple sources including, but not limited to, the following market segments:Bid Specification;P3;Design Build;Industrial/Institutional MRO RFQ; andGovernment MRO RFQ.Duties and ResponsibilitiesUnder the supervision of the Sales Manager, the duties and responsibilities of the PVF Project Quotations staff include, but are not limited to, the following:Accurately identify and interpret the PVF products on a job specification/scope of work/RFQ that are to be quoted by Independent Mechanical Supply including, but not limited to:Pipe,ValvesFittingsBackflow DevicesGauges/InstrumentationHeat TracingInsulationHangers, Fasteners, ClampsWater MetersExpansion JointsFire ProtectionY StrainersExpansion TanksCommercial Water FiltrationAssemble approval drawing and maintenance manual packages for outside sales representatives and customers in either hard copy (paper) format or electronically;Maintain PVF & BFP Net Pricing Sheets in conjunction with the Sales Manager;Accurately enter quotes into Independent’s ERP system to be presented to either the end user or the outside sale representative under the direction of the Sales Manager.Look for and suggest ways to maximize profit for the Company and provide value to the customer within the acceptable specifications;Read, understand and be familiar with relevant vendor catalogues;Develop relationships with vendors that will create favourable business conditions (greater margin and accurate delivery dates) for Independent Mechanical Supply (IMS);Develop relationships with customers that positions Independent as their first choice for purchasing PVF materials;Coordinate with the customer/Independent Outside Sales Rep/Independent Warehouse staff member the full or partial release of an awarded project;Coordinate customer returns from delivered projects with the customer and our vendors to minimize the negative impact to the customer and vendor while maximizing profitably for Independent Mechanical Supply; andRegularly contact vendors to maintain system pricing and request project pricing (as required) through negotiation, where possible, for improved profitability.Assist customers in sourcing products and solutions to their technical problems.Closely work with members of the Outside Sales Team; and with other individuals and departments within the Company;Embrace learning and Developing ones knowledge and skill sets and help other team members to ensure their growthOther duties as assigned.Minimum RequirementsExperience with and/or knowledge of PVF products sold by wholesale plumbing distributors;Demonstrated business acumen and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline driven fast paced environment;Experience suggesting and implementing changes to processes and procedure;Presentation skills;Desire to continually be educated in the requirements of the position;Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Adobe Acrobat, Order Entry Software and Internet Information Gathering/ResearchDemonstrated analytical, organizational and planning skills.Excellent Written and oral communication skills;Established history of demonstrating the ability to pay attention to detailIMS is a mid-sized company with a small-company feel.
