*** PLEASE INCLUDE A SHORT NOTE TELLING US ABOUT YOURSELF AND WHY YOU WOULD BE A GOOD ADDITION TO OUR ONCE UPON A CHILD TEAM ***Job SummaryOnce Upon A Child Scarborough is looking for outgoing and motivated individuals who love kids and enjoy working in a fun, team oriented environment. The right candidate will be available to work days, evenings and weekends. Responsibilities include providing a high level of customer service by ensuring customers are assisted in an enthusiastic, timely, and knowledgeable manner. Additional responsibilities include assisting store management in daily store operations like buying, selling, tagging, pricing, and stocking of used merchandise, processing sales and returns, answering phones, communicating the buy process to our customers, and any other tasks associated with being a sales associate.Applicants should only apply if they are able to work 25+ hours a week and must be able to work evenings after 4pm (4pn-9pm) and at least one day on weekend (Saturday 12-9pm/2-9pm or Sunday 10:30am-7pm)The right candidate must meet the following criteria:

  • Great customer service and communication skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to stand continuously without sitting for 5 hours
  • Ability to correctly lift and carry 40 pound storage bins sometimes up and down a ladder
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to handle customers with sensitivity
  • Ability to work at a fast pace with accuracy
  • Must have flexibility with work schedules; holidays and weekends are a must
  • Must be able to arrive a minimum of 10 minutes before your scheduled shift
  • Must be able to effectively communicate the buy process to our customers
  • Should have a basic knowledge of popular childrens clothing stores and an understand of current fashion trends
