Job Description

North of Woof! (Woof!s Country Boarding Facility in Schomberg) is currently seeking a part or full time dog boarding attendant to join the team at their 50 acre boarding farm and facility.We are a small home style boarding facility that offers daily outdoor and indoor play space and daily hikes on our 50 acres. We are just about to launch our new Coach house, in addition to our main boarding home and we need team members! This job is all about making our dogs tired and happy, and comfortable. Some shifts youre running around with them outside, taking them for hikes, others, your organizing feedings, evening washroom breaks and snuggling up on the sofa with them to help them settle in for the night.Have a dog: If you have a dog friendly dog who is spayed/neutered (over 6 months), you are welcome to bring them to work with you!Ideal Candidate: An ideal Woof! team member is someone who has good communication skills, is comfortable working with a team, is confident, reliable and is able to handle high stress situation with a calm authority. Candidates must also be comfortable spending time outdoors (all seasons), enjoy hiking and lots of exercise and are not afraid to get a little dirty.What the position entails:Days Shifts:

  • Morning Feedings: Overseeing feedings for dogs, keeping food bins and feeding guides organized
  • Assisting with Playtime/Hikes: Overseeing indoor and outdoor yard playtime and taking small packs out for hikes on the farm.
  • Dog Intakes and Check Outs: Assisting with taking in first day dogs (from owners or Woof! City Shuttle), organizing dogs gear, food and medications, checking out last day dogs, packing up dogs heading home.
  • Daily Tidying: Ensuring the facility is clean and organized at all times.
  • Assisting with Client Inquiries and Daily Notes: Assisting staff with booking inquiries, and inputting dog behavioral notes, dog stay report cards etc.
  • Assisting with Country Day Camp (Monday through Friday) Helping City Daycare staff with our city daycare dogs who come out to the farm for hikes and playtime.
Afternoon/Evening Shift: Afternoon Hike & Playtime: Overseeing afternoon hikes and additional playtime
  • Dinner Time Feedings: Administering feedings/medication etc, keeping food bins and feeding guides organized
  • Evening Clean Up: Tidying up the space, setting up additional dog beds etc for extra dog night time sleeping.
  • Helping dogs settle for the night lots of relaxing and cuddling with them to help get them comfortable, taking them for last night washroom breaks, posting to our client album when dogs settle in.
  • Hours & Shifts
: 2-3 Shifts (for Part Time) OR 4-5 Shifts (Full Time) 8am to 3pm (Morning/Day Shift) OR 2pm to 10pm (Evening Shift)
  • Must be available on Weekends (weekend shifts rotate between staff)
