Job Description

North of Woof! (Woof!s Country Boarding Facility in Schomberg) is currently seeking a part or full time dog boarding attendant to join the team at their 50 acre boarding farm and facility.We are a small home style boarding facility that offers daily outdoor and indoor play space and daily hikes on our 50 acres. We are just about to launch our new Coach house, in addition to our main boarding home and we need team members! This job is all about making our dogs tired and happy, and comfortable. Some shifts youre running around with them outside, taking them for hikes, others, your organizing feedings, evening washroom breaks and snuggling up on the sofa with them to help them settle in for the night.Have a dog: If you have a dog who is dog friendly and spay/neutered (over 6 months), you are welcome to bring them with you to work as long as they do not interfere with your ability to work your shift.Ideal Candidate: An ideal Woof! team member is someone who has good communication skills, is comfortable working with a team, is confident, reliable and is able to handle high stress situation with a calm authority. Candidates must also be comfortable spending time outdoors (all seasons), enjoy hiking and lots of exercise and are not afraid to get a little dirty.What the position entails:Night Shifts:

  • Bedtime Routine: Help dogs settle in for the night. Oversee last washroom breaks and ensure the boarding space has been tidied for the night.
  • Oversee Sleep Time: Its a home style set up, staff are welcome to sleep/nap with the dogs overnight as long as everyone is safe and settled. TV and other home comforts provided so that the night shift doesnt really feel like youre working! But be prepared to be cuddled up with by a lot of dogs.
  • Morning Bathroom Breaks & Feedings: Overseeing feedings for dogs, keeping food bins and feeding guides organized
  • Prepare Staff Switch Over: Update staff with any overnight developments, prepare for dogs going home and arriving
  • Input any Daily Notes: Inputting dog behavioral notes if required, dog stay report cards etc.
  • Hours & Shifts
: 2-3 Shifts (for Part Time) OR 4-5 Shifts (Full Time) 10pm to 8am
  • Must be available on Weekends (weekend shifts rotate between staff)
Training: Staff are given on the job (paid) dog behavior and handling training for approximately 2 weeks (depending on experience and natural skill level) in addition to systems training.To Apply: Please email a resume along with a COVER LETTER (please introduce yourself and tell us a little about yourself and any experience you have with dogs) and your interest in a FULL or a PART TIME schedule.Only those offered an interview will be contacted.Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, PermanentPart-time hours: 24-40 per weekSalary: From $15.50 per hourSchedule:
