Equipment Operator - VEH002586Employment Type: Labour Service (seasonal)Location(s): SK-South West-ShaunavonMinistry: 016 HighwaysSalary Range: $24.107 - $30.214 HourlyGrade: SGEU.06.The Ministry of Highways, Southern Operations is seeking is seeking a Labour Service Equipment Operator for the Shaunavon Section. As part of a section crew, you will operate, service and maintain heavy equipment such as tandem trucks with hydro drum, spinner, snowplow and wing attachments, graders and front-end loaders, perform various highway maintenance functions in the summer, and snow and ice removal in the winter months.As a member of a team who ensures public safety, you will have the opportunity to work with new and advanced technologies and equipment. You will keep records and logs of hours of operation, repairs and amounts of materials applied to highways, and in the absence of the supervisor you may be assigned supervisory responsibilities. You will work under extreme and changing climate conditions and must be willing to travel and work flexible hours. You must also be able and willing to work in physically demanding conditions and perform physical labour, heavy lifting, and climbing.You will be approachable and flexible in dealing with members of the public and the work unit, self-motivated to complete tasks, adaptable to changing work situations, and must work well in an environment that recognizes, supports, respects and welcomes diversity of employees and clients.To qualify for this position you must hold a valid class 1A drivers licence.“Our core values include showing respect and integrity, serving citizens, excellence and innovation and acting as one team.
