Job Description

Rock Solid Refuge is a 12-month, biblically-based residential program for 13 – 18-year-old teen boys with life-controlling issues. This program encompasses spiritual, academic, and vocational training to equip students to return to society as responsible citizens.Creating, developing, and implementing the development/fundraising strategy to ensure financial viability and sustainability of Rock Solid RefugeDevelopment

  • Create and implement the annual development plan and strategy.
  • Lead the development of Rock Solid Refuge’s fundraising strategy including, but not limited to two key annual events, quarterly newsletters, developing partners for change, donor recognition, presentations to organizations and churches, social media and grant applications
  • Lead and manage the department’s efforts to raise an annual budget of $1.4M +
  • Train staff and volunteers to support fundraising and marketing efforts
  • Develop and grow the donor base and manage events and campaigns.
  • Write fundraising letters and appeals; maintain regular correspondence with donors, foundations, churches, and stakeholders; oversee direct-mail campaigns
  • Bring innovative fundraising and development ideas to the table
  • Achieve 10-15%, year-over-year, overall financial growth
  • Strategize towards capital campaign for future developments and expansions on current location as well as the long-range vision of multiple campuses in Canada
  • Implement best practices around fundraising operations, utilizing systems and relationships to build stronger donor pipelines, locally and regionally
Team Support· Supervise, monitor and inspire development team to achieve organizational goals· Manage performance of the development team· Actively participate in staff and leadership team meetings· Meet regularly with the Executive Director to stay informed of the department’s activities
  • Prepare reports for the Executive Director and Board of Directors
Qualifications· Proven track record in non-profit development managing $1M+/year· A minimum of 5 years’ experience (preferred) in a not-for-profit development environment in major gift fundraising, or as a Development Director· Experience working in fundraising organizations and a clear understanding of how to build a robust fund development program.· Completion of post-secondary education; graduate of a fundraising program or working towards the Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) designation is an asset· Experience working in faith-based communities· Successful completion of all background checksJob Requirements· Valid driver’s license and ability to travel in regions where RSR has presentations (Specifically the Prairie Provinces)· Personal relationship with Christ from an Evangelical point of view· An understanding of integrating the Christian faith in relating to youthPlease submit a cover letter and resumeJob Type: Full-timeSalary: From $60,000.00 per yearSchedule:
