Job Description

QuebecMOBIA Technology Innovations is a Systems Integration company with multiple business unit areas: Broadband and Wireless Services, Managed Services, Infrastructure Solutions, Cybersecurity and Application and Data Services. Working with Service Providers, Government, Healthcare, and Enterprises across Canada, MOBIA has developed strategic business relationships with industry leading technology partners to help our customers achieve positive business outcomes.MOBIA is currently recruiting a COEI Technician to join our team in Quebec.Responsibilities may include, depending on experience:

  • Installation, testing & commissioning of telecom and networking equipment
  • Running of cables; including DC power, fiber optic & copper cables
  • Termination of DC cables, networking cables (Cat 5/6) & wire wrap
  • Fiber splicing & testing of both loose tube and ribbon fiber
  • Installation of relay racks, cabinets and associated networking/telecom hardware
  • Installation of cable rack and fiber management systems
  • Testing and troubleshooting of issues
  • Opening and closing of customer Tickets
  • Reception of materials, opening and verification of contents
  • Reporting to your immediate manager any issues or missing items
  • Reading and understanding technical documents, and/or equipment installation manuals; plan and complete jobs in accordance with these guidelines
  • Following customer provided installation standards
  • Maintaining records and as-built documents
  • Travelling throughout Quebec 20% of the time. A vehicle will be provided for travel
Skills / Qualifications:
  • 5+ years’ experience with Central Office Equipment Installation and/or Fiber Optic Splicing or Structured Cabling
  • Knowledge of Telco standards
  • Good Knowledge AC/DC theory
  • DC Power Plant knowledge
  • Familiarity and experience with grounding standards
  • Overall knowledge of networking architectures
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check
  • High aptitude for troubleshooting and working under pressure
  • Solid written and verbal communication
  • IT and PC knowledge and understanding
  • Bilingual in French and English is an asset
