Who we are...Shuswap Lake Vacation Inc. DBA Twin Anchors Houseboats Vacations is the largest houseboat company in Canada, with the largest boats in Canada. We are the premier houseboat destination on Shuswap Lake. With 1100 km of shoreline to explore onboard our luxurious Twin Anchor houseboats. Our guests have the ability to adventure and see the many highlights of the lake or relax on their houseboat. We are located at the largest marina on Shuswap lake surrounded by mountain scenery. It is the perfect location for after work adventures and to work in beautiful Sicamous, BC. We appreciate all applicants.Job DescriptionJob Title:Marine Mechanical Technician-Apprentice – Twin Anchors Houseboats VacationsJob Function:Perform inspections, repairs and routine maintenance in accordance with the procedures of the Quality System and meet time commitments. Under the supervision of Supervisor and ITA instructor.Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs inspections on returning houseboats
  • Investigates and completes necessary repairs based on customer concerns
  • Reports ITA accepted hours to supervisor and/or ITA instructor for sign off
  • Completes necessary repairs to rental boats on water and in dry dock
  • Performs winterizing operations and spring preparations as required
  • Performs functions of customer service as required
  • Performs other duties or support to co-workers as the pressures dictate within the Twin Anchors’ environment
ITA Job Tasks:
  • Occupational skills: using tools and equipment; performing maintenance and inspections; and analyzing and processing information
  • Hydraulic systems; Diagnosing and repairing hydraulic systems
  • Marine Drive systems; Diagnosing and repairing marine drive systems
  • Steering systems; Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical steering systems
  • Electrical and Electronic systems; Diagnosing and repairing electrical and electronic Systems
  • Vessel systems; Installation, diagnosing and repairing domestic plumbing, HVAC systems, structural components, attachments and accessories
Required Skills and Knowledge:
  • Certified mechanical abilities or similar experience
  • Mechanic apprentice
  • WHMIS training certificate
  • Pleasure Craft Operator’s Certification
  • Ability to deal with customers on a professional level
Preferred Knowledge/Experience:
  • Knowledge of Twin Anchors Operations and Manufacturing, or similar operations
  • Experience in marine repair and maintenance
  • ITA Apprenticeship certified hours at previous workplaces (if applicable)
