The Farmer's Daughter is a cheese shop, bistro and wine bar in the heart of Sidney, BC!We are looking for a strong candidate with management and cheese shop retail experience to join our small team!With a passion for food especially cheese, you are a person who loves working with people and creating a positive experience for others. You will have an extensive knowledge of cheeses, and love sharing your knowledge to help educate and provide suggestions to customers. This is a permanent full-time position. A great opportunity to grow with us and the industry!Major Responsibilities- Offer superior customer service in the art of selling cheese- Day-to-day operation, maintenance, and merchandising of retail cheese shop- Display good judgment and decision-making ability while communicating with customers and team members in support of Management- Functions as point person and departmental person in charge in absence of Management- Ability to work in a high-volume environment and multi-task in an efficient manner- Key holder, opening and closing operations and cash outs- Assists Management with ordering and inventory management- Food preparation in support of back-of-house, such as slicing cured meats, making jams, etc.- Growth mind set towards greater responsibility and ownershipJob Requirements- Extensive knowledge of cheese is a must- 2-3 years experience in the food industry- Reliable, available to work evenings, weekends and holidays- High energy, enthusiastic, and displays an affinity for our products, core values, and company philosophy- Desire and willingness to learn and grow with the company, and to coach and mentor others for growth- Advanced knowledge of regulatory and safety policies and procedures- Wine knowledge is an asset- Skilled at working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining priorities and a high level of performance- Excellent interpersonal, motivational, team building, and customer relationship skills- Ability to learn manual and automated systems/tools- Capable of teaching others in a positive and constructive manner- Demonstrate decision-making ability, leadership skills, and ability to prioritize and delegate- Proficiency with email, Microsoft Office Suite, and operations-related applications- Food Safe Level 1- Serving It Right, BCJob Types: Full-time, PermanentSalary: From $18.00 per hourAdditional pay:
