The Farmers Daughter is a cheese shop, bistro and wine bar in the heart of Sidney, BC! We are looking for a strong candidate with management and cheese shop retail experience to join our small team!With a passion for food especially cheese, you are a person who loves working with people and creating a positive experience for others. You will have an extensive knowledge of cheeses, and love sharing your knowledge to help educate and provide suggestions to customers. This is a permanent full-time position. A great opportunity to grow with us and the industry!Major Responsibilities- Offer superior customer service in the art of selling cheese- Functions as point person and department person in charge- Lead and guide the team, staff training- Day-to-day operation, maintenance, and merchandising of retail cheese shop- Provide ongoing care and attention to cheeses, ensuring prime condition is maintained- Organize and executes catering orders and special events- Organizes and manages monthly club subscriptions- Implements policies and procedures for smoother operations, ensures policies, recipes and forms are kept up-to-date- Display good judgment and decision-making ability while communicating with customers and team members- Ability to work in a high-volume environment and multi-task in an efficient manner- Key holder, opening and closing operations and cash outs- Assists with ordering, receiving and inventory management- Food preparation such as slicing cured meats, making jams, etc.Job Requirements- Extensive knowledge of cheese is a must- 2-3 years experience in the food industry- 2-3 years of management experience- Reliable, available to work evenings, weekends and holidays- High energy, enthusiastic, and displays an affinity for our products, core values, and company philosophy- Desire and willingness to learn and grow with the company, and to coach and mentor others for growth- Advanced knowledge of regulatory and safety policies and procedures- Wine knowledge is an asset- Skilled at working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining priorities and a high level of performance- Excellent interpersonal, motivational, team building, and customer relationship skills- Ability to learn manual and automated systems/tools- Capable of teaching others in a positive and constructive manner- Demonstrate decision-making ability, leadership skills, and ability to prioritize and delegate- Proficiency with email, Microsoft Office Suite, and operations-related applications- Food Safe Level 1- Serving It Right, BCJob Types: Full-time, PermanentSalary: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per yearAdditional pay:
