Job Description

The Care Group (“TCG”) offers high quality complex care services to residents in 8 homes throughout the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island.THE OPPORTUNITYWe are looking for experienced Kitchen Assistant to join our Sidney Care Team.Shifts are negotiable, we are flexible with hours and will discuss during the interviewWe offer:

  • dental for FT
  • paid days off
  • $500 signing bonus (paid after 3 months of probation) and a $500 retention bonus (paid after one year for FT and prorated to annualized hours of not FT).
Duties:o Maintains a safe, clean and organized kitchen and storage areao Supports the Chef/Cook in the kitchen so it runs to time with having snacks and meals prepared ready to serveo Helps direct portions sizes are appropriated and requested taking in to consideration likes, dislikes and allergieso Maintains a log for the fat trap maintenance and emptyingo Ensures a safe, clean and secure environment in the kitchen and dining room for staff, residents and visitorso Attends Infection Control meetings once every two monthsQualifications:
  • Grade 10
  • Safe food handling level one
  • Proof of vaccination
Skills and Abilitieso Good written and verbal communicationo Demonstrates good time managemento Flexibility, can work independentlyo Physically and mentally able to perform duties for above positiono Shows a caring and considerate attitude to resident, visitors and staffAbout us: Sidney Care is located on Vancouver Island in sunny Sidney, BC and offers residential care to 54 clients. Sidney Care has been in operation for many years and provides a home like environment to its residents. The facility was recently renovated and is tastefully decorated.
