Job Description

Sidney All Care ResidenceWe’re looking for an enthusiastic Food Services Manager/ Chef.Are you looking for an amazing place to work Have a passion for creating amazing food, leading a great team and the desire to create the best for our residentsThis position is Permanent Full Time and does qualify for benefits!Reporting directly to the General Manager and working closely with the Dietitian and Director of Care, the Food Services Manager/Chef is responsible for all aspects related to the management and operations of the Food Services Department ensuring the highest standards of quality service.Qualifications and Experience

  • A diploma or certification from a recognized Food Service Management Program from an accredited post-secondary institute or a combination of education and experience in a position as a Food Service Supervisor specific to health care or Certification/Diploma from a recognized chef’s training program; membership (or eligible for) in the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management, or is a Registered Dietitian;
  • Three to five years management experience in a health care setting is preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of food services and delivery programs;
  • Experience managing a team through motivation, coaching and development;
  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently;
  • Valid Food Safe Level 1 and 2;
  • Red Seal Chef preferred.
Skills & Abilities
  • Proficient computer aptitude with relevant skills including Windows based software including Outlook, Excel and Humanity scheduling software;
  • Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and skillfully problem solve; Ability to demonstrate tact, diplomacy, empathy and patience, and the temperament necessary to maintain a caring manner while working with team members and residents;
  • Maintain a commitment to continued professional development;
  • Ability to respond efficiently to a fast paced environment;
  • Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others
