Each day, you will work a 12-hour workdays.This role normally works overnight from about 9:00pm to 9:00am. Hours may vary based on requirements.Transportation is provided to site from a pickup points in Terrace and Stewart, BC.The Baker/Breakfast Cook is responsible for delighting our clients by preparing and cooking breakfast and and baked goods to the highest standards of Horizon North.Your work will include:Preparing breakfast goods for morning service (Bacon, Eggs, Pancakes, Sausages, etc)Preparing and baking goods (about 10% scratch baking)Restocking pastry shelves and maintaining a sufficient and fresh supply of baked goodsCreating and following menus to ensure quality of baked goods and dessertsWrapping and dating all baked goods in accordance with production scheduleSandwich preparation as requiredEnsuring consistent quality standard in over-all food preparation as per clients’ requirements including consideration to special dietary constraintsEnsuring proper equipment operation, safety and sanitation in the kitchenComplying with food hygiene regulations in accordance with Food Safety Act.Other duties as assignedWHAT’S IN IT FOR YOUEnjoy excellent work-life balance.Extended health and dental benefits that are fully covered.Whereas other companies are downsizing, we are growing!Be #1 on day 1 by joining an industry leaderFollow Horizon North on Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter.QualificationsWHO ARE WE LOOKING FORMinimum 2 years’ cooking and baking experience in a similar or hotel/institutional environmentSome culinary education an assetFood safety certificationProven experience preparing preparing breakfast and/or baked goods for large number of guestsSuccessful candidates MUST obtain a mark of 80% or higher on the mandatory WHMIS test (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System).Additional InformationDexterra Group is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
