Job Description

DJ Airside Services provides ground handling services for Air Canada Express at the Smithers airport. We currently have an opening for a Customer Service Agent.Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Using an airline computerized system
  • Passenger check-in
  • Processing payment for excess baggage charges and other fees as required
  • Make general passenger announcements
  • Liaise with external and internal customers i.e. ramp, flight crew, dispatch etc.
  • Departure Gate customer service and boarding
  • Assist passengers at airport counters and gates including assistance to and from the aircraft
  • Cargo processing
  • Handle delayed and damaged baggage claims
  • Conduct radio communications with aircraft and record flight information
Job Qualifications:
  • Must be fully vaccinated with a Canadian government approved vaccine against Covid-19 prior to start date.
  • Minimum 1 year customer service experience.
  • General computer experience including the ability to navigate the internet as well as any previous experience using an airline reservation system is considered an asset.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Demonstrated judgment and problem-solving ability and effective decision-making skills
  • Independent learner
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills
  • Comfortable speaking in front of a group
  • Ability and willingness to work varying shifts including evenings, weekends and split shifts
  • Ability to work under pressure and high stress situations
  • Previous airline experience or post-secondary courses in travel and tourism are definite assets
Additional Requirements:
  • Criminal background check required (to be obtained upon employment)
  • English language required
Available shifts Mon-Sun 0830 -1130Additional shifts will be available when more flights are added.$22/hr during training (approximately 3 months) $25/hr upon completion of all training requirementsJob Types: Part-time, PermanentSalary: $22.00-$25.00 per hourSchedule:
