Manager, Community and Inclusion (Smithers)Job description and dutiesOpen to internal candidates.Coast Mountain College (CMTN), Smithers Campus, invites applications for an exciting opportunity to fill the permanent, full-time position of Manager, Community and Inclusion.Duties: Reporting to the Dean of Student Success, the Manager of Community and Inclusion is responsible for leading initiatives related to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI), along with campus management in Smithers. In addition, the Manager engages with communities in and around Smithers and Houston.As a member of the executive team, the Manager provides oversight of the Smithers campus, including issues around space, safety, and teamwork. The Manager serves as the face of the College in the community and beyond, representing the College in the communities served and with local and regional industry.Working with the Dean of Student Success, the Manager facilitates learning opportunities for the College community (employees and students) to ensure that JEDI principles are integrated into lived experiences and pedagogy at CMTN. The Manager also oversees initiatives under the Student Success portfolio that link to cultural awareness and global citizenship.The College has launched an ambitious strategic plan to become the college of choice for experiential, place-based learning by 2027. To accomplish this, the Manager must be able to live the College values of Adventure, Transformation, and Integrity and provide leadership in these areas. The Manager needs to be a strategic thinker with excellent communication and leadership skills.Northwest BC is a great place to live and work.
