DBA LB Paving is recruiting a Project Coordinator to fill a fulltime salaried position based in Smithers BC. Reporting to the Operations Superintendent, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the project team with construction oversight, estimating, budgets and schedules. The Terus construction operation in Smithers consists of one civil construction (Canyon Contracting) and one asphalt paving (LB Paving) crew. Both operations are proud of their reputation and deep roots in the surrounding communities. Project work could include industrial, municipal, residential and highway paving programs, water storage and distribution upgrade projects, trail development and other recreational and municipal upgrades. Overtime & weekend work will be expected throughout the construction season which typically runs from May to November.Duties/Tasks:

• Obtain, review and interpret contract documents.
• Coordinate sub-contractors, materials and other logistics.
• Generate basic estimates as required.
• Ensure that quality control systems are functioning.
• Follow up with the clients on work progress and quantities tracking.
• Establish positive working relationships with construction superintendents, clients, administrators and suppliers.
• Participate, accept and adopt the principles described in Terus Construction’s Health Safety and Environment program.
• Other duties as required.

Qualifications/Experience:

• Valid class 5 driver’s license.
• Preference will be given to candidates with a background in construction operations.
• Strong computer skills and a willingness to train with construction software technologies will be considered an asset.

Requirements:

• Must comply with the company’s drug and alcohol policy, including pre-employment testing requirements.
• Must be willing to preform all work-related tasks/activities in compliance with the Terus Construction’s Code of Ethics.
• Must be able to work in accordance to company safety policies and procedures.
• Must be an effective communicator and a team player
