The program offers free multi-level English classes, tutor matching, information and orientation, community connection services, employment services, cultural learning activities, and weekly drop-in practice groups. The service utilizes learner-centered approaches to teach and introduce newcomers to Canadian culture and resources, to connect them with the community and to strengthen English speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. A welcoming and supportive community is built through shared multicultural experiences.POSITION SUMMARY:The Settlement Assistance & Community Outreach Worker within the English Language & Multicultural Services (ELMS) Program provides settlement services to immigrant clients and builds strong networks with community stakeholders.
