Job Description

General DescriptionSeeking a detail-oriented, well-organized, team player to assist with contractual coordination & administration of underground utility projects. This position will require strong communication skills, an ability to multi-task and meet project deadlines. Construction background or understanding is essential.TypeFull-timeReports to/ Interacts withThis position will report directly to the Director of Operations while working with the Project Management and office team.Job Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the Project Manager team for the completion of project deliverables
  • Thoroughly review and understand the contract drawings and specifications;
  • Transition awarded projects to operations, contribute to work planning, brief project teams, subcontractors and suppliers and manage site related business processes and administration;
  • Assist in the coordination of shop drawing preparation and submission, project tracking, monthly invoicing, preparing and organizing work order details for the field,
  • Work with the Project Supervisor/Manager and Manager of Contracts & Estimating on changes to project scope or timelines, prepare respective quotes, and assist with project certificates and invoicing of the project;
  • Communicate with the subcontractors on contractual issues;
  • Establish, coordinate and maintain contract records and ensure compliance with contractual terms, conditions and work orders;
  • Supply information to resolve project disputes if they arise;
  • Request, obtain and manage municipal consents, road occupancy / cut permits, and other required permits;
  • Updating project tracking sheets and/or project schedules;
  • Monitor and follow up with project quality assurance requirements;
  • Assist with preparation of as-built drawings and project close-outs in coordination with project managers;
  • Support Operations and field staff with technology support and misc. items required for project execution;
  • Travel to site locations as need be to support Operations and/or Estimating;
  • Assist other staff in office duties as required.
Job Qualifications
  • Civil Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) /C. Tech designation or 3 years’ experience in a Project Coordinator or Contract Coordinator role
  • Construction background
  • Multi-tasking ability, strong organizational skills, deadline driven, good communication skills, strong writing and the ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Project)
  • Flexibility to work additional hour’s during busy time periods is preferred but not mandatory
  • Valid drivers license
