Our industry recognition is a testament to the family values we share with our parent company, McCain Foods Limited.Broker Payables AnalystFull-timeSomerville, NBThe Broker Payables Analyst will be responsible for the integrity of Broker Payables system. This position will be responsible for the extraction of strategic broker pay data and the creation of necessary reporting to support decision making processes to prevent financial risk exposureHow You’ll Help

  • Ensuring all the pay codes, settlement codes and contracts are in the Broker Payables system and updated at all times.
  • Development and creation of variance reporting to identify issues or errors to ensure broker pay is accurate and complete (exception based analysis)
  • Run reports necessary to support broker pay rate changes to understand financial impacts including sensitivity analysis and assisting in the testing of B1 reporting.
  • Manage negative pay reporting including the communication of issues to operations
  • Communicating with brokers on a daily basis, reviewing and validating broker pay, and answering questions about pay statements.
  • Complete period end statement settlements.
  • Ensuring fuel recommendations are provided timely for approval and updates in before the beginning of the month
  • Support for broker pay coordinators
  • Responsible for the monthly negative pay review
  • Be a sounding board for Broker Pay escalations as it pertains to system, analystics, and processes
  • Assess year end versus actual end of year close (updates, new journals)
Your Skills & Experience:
  • Post-secondary education in accounting or business administration. (considered an asset)
  • A suitable combination of education and/or experience may be considered
  • Minimum of one year experience in accounts payable or another computerized accounting function in a fast paced environment, preferably in the transportation industry.
  • A suitable combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
  • Experience in Oracle an asset.
  • Excellent computer skills including MS Office , specifically excel
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, particularly with numbers
  • Understanding of accounting gl’s and taxes is considered an asset
  • Detail orientated with the ability to work accurately in a high volume, fast paced environment.
