Job Description

Amalgamated Mining Equipment, a leading provider of heavy equipment solutions, is seeking a skilled and organized Service Writer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing unit reports, inspections, parts lists, costs, scope of work execution, time management, and job line up within our heavy equipment service department. You will provide daily updates and maintain a weekly look-ahead schedule to ensure operational efficiency.Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze unit reports, inspections, parts lists, and costs to support accurate record-keeping and billing.
  • Coordinate and schedule service work based on priorities and deadlines.
  • Manage time effectively to ensure prompt completion of service jobs.
  • Provide daily updates to the management team on project progress.
  • Maintain a weekly look-ahead schedule to plan for upcoming service work.
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel for data organization and tracking.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills to interact with technicians, customers, and management effectively.
Qualifications:
  • Mechanical Trades certificate or previous experience in a similar role within the heavy equipment industry.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong multitasking and prioritization skills.
  • Knowledge of heavy equipment maintenance procedures and terminology is advantageous.

Schedule:
  • 8-10 hour shift (minimum 8hrs)
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as required with advanced notice
