ABOUT THIS CAREER OPPORTUNITYCanadian Base Operators Southport team is growing! As a proud partner with Kelowna Aerospace Defence Programs, we deliver numerous support services tailored to our client, the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF).The Evening Cleaning Supervisor is located in Southport, MB and reports to the Housekeeping Supervisor. Their primary focus is to lead the evening cleaning team, ensuring proper safety and cleaning standards are followed. The hours of work are 2:00 pm – 10:30 pm, Monday to Friday. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Organize employee work duties and scheduled cleaning
  • Orient and train staff
  • Inspect and monitor facilities to ensure established safety and cleanliness standards are met
  • Issue supplies and equipment to staff
  • Coordinate activities with other departments to ensure services are provided in an efficient and timely manner
  • Advise when new supplies or equipment are required
  • Monitor and report on additional services such as painting, repair work, renovations and replacement of furnishings and equipment
  • Assist with cleaning duties as required
  • Operate various machines including carpet cleaner, floor polisher, etc.
  • Prepare and submit daily timesheets
  • Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTSCompletion of High School Diploma or equivalentWORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Building / office cleaning and equipment-related experience required
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience / leadership skills in janitorial services
SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • High attention to detail
  • Exercise sound judgement when in contact with confidential information
  • High level of physical fitness and endurance to withstand periods of strenuous physical work
  • Organization and time management
  • Managing / leading union staff
  • Willing to take additional training as deemed necessary or beneficial to the execution of the job
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License
  • Eligible to obtain an Enhanced Reliability Clearance by the Canadian Industrial Security Directorate
  • Valid First Aid Certificate desirable
