Requisition ID: 327712Competition #: AH-22-162Position Control #: 816-715321003H098-02Posting End Date: December 21, 2022City: SteinbachSite: Southern Health-Santé SudWork Location: Home Care Services - SteinbachDepartment / Unit: Home Care ServicesJob Stream: ClinicalUnion: MGEU Prof TechAnticipated Start Date - End Date: To be determined - IndefiniteFTE: 1.00Anticipated Shift: Days with occasional evenings & weekendsDaily Hours Worked: 7.25 hour shiftsSalary: As Per MGEU Prof Tech Collective AgreementTerm Condition: For MGEU Prof Tech: This is an indefinite term position which may expire subject to Fortyeight (48) hours notice.Position Summary:As a member of a multi-disciplinary team, the incumbent assesses the need for, and coordinates the delivery of professional and non-professional Home Care Services.The incumbent exercises the appropriate level of initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities, work methods to be employed and action to be taken on unusual matters. The position functions in a manner that is consistent with the mission, vision and values; and the policies of Southern Health-Santé Sud.Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited post-secondary education program (B.N. or Social Sciences B.S.W., OT, PT)
  • Minimum of two (2) years current related experience
  • Active license and registration to practice as required by professional association
  • Relevant professional practice, specifically in gerontology
  • Given the cultural diversity of our region, the ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population is required
  • Proficiency of both official languages is essential for target and designated bilingual positions
  • Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job
  • Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality including paper, electronic formats and other mediums
  • Good work and attendance record
Conditions of Employment:
  • Completes and maintains a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Search, Adult Abuse Registry Check and Child Abuse Registry Check, as appropriate.
  • All Health Care workers are required to be immunized as a condition of employment in accordance with Southern Health-Santé Sud policy.
  • Requires a valid Class 5 driver’s license, an all-purpose insured vehicle and liability insurance of at least $1,000,000.00.
