DUTIESTrailblazers Life Choices is looking to fill the position of a Driver, who, under the direction of Transportation Coordinator, will primarily be responsible for transportation of adults living with disabilities.MAIN DUTIES:· Report delays, mechanical problems and accidents;· Load and unload vehicle;· Direct passengers during emergency evacuation procedures;· Deal with difficult passengers and resolve conflicts;· Deal with public;· Complete logbooks and reports;· Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle;· Communicate with passengers, Transpiration Coordinator or other drivers;· Operate buses or streetcars to transport passengers;· Ensure adults safety when boarding and leaving buses and crossing street while bus is stopped;· Maintain control of individuals activities during travel to prevent distractions or behaviours that could compromise safety.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS· Secondary (high) school graduation certificate· Drivers License (Class 2);· Experience is an asset (School bus driver; Intercity bus driver; Buses 1 year)· Drivers abstract;· Be able to work in a fast-paced environment;· Be able to work under pressure;· Be able to handle heavy loads;· Be able to sit for prolonged time· Attention to detail;· Hand-eye co-ordination;· Ability to distinguish between colors;· Sound discrimination;· Effective interpersonal skills;· Flexibility;· Team player skills;· Excellent oral communication;· Client focus;· Judgement;· Reliability;· Must be OrganizedSCHEDULEThe shifts will be split between the following hours:Mon-Fri: 7am - 10am & 3pm - 5pmCONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT· Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada· An applicant who is offered an employment, must provide a current (not older than 3 months) and satisfactory Criminal Records Check (with vulnerable sector search), Child Abuse Registry Check, and Adult Abuse Registry CheckJob Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, CasualSalary: $17.00 per hourBenefits:
