Job Description

We are currenly hiring an Operational Buyer for a 6-month contract based in Steinbach, MBThe Operational Buyer will be responsible for identifying the business requirements and develop suppliers to ensure that products and/or services will be delivered in the time, quality and competitiveness levels required. You will work with staff across departments to forecast the needs of the business and make purchase decisions based on demand.Advantages

Responsibilities
  • Manage the purchase and supply of all procured goods and services assigned to you
  • Successfully manage the supplier base, performing supply risk assessment, define and implement
the sourcing strategy, perform supplier’s performance assessment, and implement actions (asneeded) to secure the supply capacity, quality, and competitiveness
  • Work with Global Procurement Category Managers on Sourcing activities, contracts, escalations.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers, new products / technology / innovations,
cost trends for current and upcoming purchasing requirements
  • Ensure that all quality requirements are met for new suppliers and/or new products / services
contracted
  • Lead and/or co-lead projects related to new supplier and/or new products introduction are
delivered as required in terms of the quality, delivery, cost
  • Lead and/or co-lead commercial terms negotiations with suppliers, non-conformance analysis
and action plans with suppliers
  • Manage supplier relationship, improving supplier performance and building successful supply
chain partnership. Participate or Lead Strategic Business Reviews with Strategic Suppliers.
  • Ensure that commercial terms, lead-time, and other applicable information are up to date
  • Ensure that safety stock / inventory levels are according to the plan, process requisitions in
purchase orders, perform follow-ups with suppliers and update management on status of orders
  • Create reports of the product and services managed
  • Perform regular assessment of the processes, and recommend improvements to ensure
continuity of the department’s performance
  • Report KPI’s (savings, risks, One Time Delivery) into Corporate IT Systems
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or related studies and/or equivalent combination of education and
experience is required.
  • APICS program designation and/or equivalent combination of education and experience is
desired.
  • Working knowledge of the associated regulations that govern the pharmaceutical industry is
highly desired.
  • Experience using an automated MRP system (SAP) to plan and schedule raw material through
finished product is required
  • Working knowledge in Microsoft Office with a proficiency in word and excel
