Job Description

About the jobReporting to the Director of Product Management, the Solutions Analyst will provide business analysis and gather requirements toward the successful implementation of software applications and business process improvements for our clients.The candidate will be responsible for managing product development efforts of medium to high complexity. As a specialist in business applications, technology and data planning, the Solution Analyst is required to deliver specified requirements within the constraints of scope, quality, time, and cost. The candidate will liaise with customers to gather, validate, and manage requirements with the goal of understanding business needs and translating them into a solution. This role is a key customer-facing position within the development team.Responsibilities:

  • Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task, and workflow analysis /process mapping
  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following artifacts as needed: functional requirements
(business requirements document), use cases, screen and interface designs, data flow diagrams, workflow diagrams
  • Teamwork and communication with development team in an agile environment
  • Teamwork and communication with various subject matter experts
  • Teamwork and communication with various partners and clients
  • Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Assist with the definition and continuous improvement of BA processes and interactions with other IT areas
  • Make recommendations to improve the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the business
  • Work with the business to identify techniques for improving processes and application usage, and to manage changes to existing processes.
  • Support project delivery of application and data-related projects, with tasks assigned by their supervisor.
  • Assist with implementation of new software applications or new features for existing applications internally or with external clients.
  • Contribute to the team effort by completing other tasks or projects as assigned
  • Developing and maintaining project plans for your portfolio including; scope statements, schedules, communication plans, goals and milestones, deliverables and deadlines.
  • Tracking project stages and ensuring any roadblocks to completion are mitigated or escalated.
  • Delivering elements of systems design, including data migration rules, business rules, wireframes, or other detailed deliverables.
Skills/Qualifications
  • Adaptability: o Ability to accept change and deal with uncertainty o Ability to resolve uncertainty when possible o Ability to learn and synthesize new topics quickly
  • Bachelor of Science with a major in Computer Science or Bachelor of Business Administration or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of custom and enterprise software, specifically Finance, Pension and Benefit management systems.
  • Problem solving and investigative skills including information gathering and troubleshooting
  • Basic understanding of custom software development, project management and software implementation.
  • Business Analysis experience, specifically around Software development
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized with ability to multi-task
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into the application and operational requirements
  • 2+ years experience as team member in implementing and/or building software
  • An understanding of change management practices and experience in applying change.
Management within a project environment would be considered an asset.
  • Ability to travel or willingness to work in multiple potential locations would be an asset.
