This is the external posting, open to Casuals, Terms and external applicants.CAD/Project TechnicianTerm Assignment to September 26, 2022S alary range: $48,803 to $62,947The CAD/Project Technician supports the Projects Team (consisting of Project Leader, Officer and Project Coordinator) with various phases of Construction and Facilities related projects. Prepares detailed CAD drawings and specifications, updates all drawings to reflect current facility fit-up, and ensures facility records are current. The CAD/Project Technician will also coordinate and lead small construction projects, including minor renovations, alterations and/or portable accommodations; Assists with Facilities tenders, audits, and updates databases such as VFA, SFIS, and energy management systems.Depending on the assignment, the CAD/Project Technician may be assigned to the architectural, civil, electrical, mechanical, roofing or building envelope portfolio.Candidate Profile: .Proficient in AutoCAD or other C.A.D (computer aided design) software with the ability to prepare clear and precise technical drawings and specifications is a requirement.Ability to analyze and interpret drawings.Experience using facility database programs such as ReCAPP, Megamations, and the Board’s financial software (BAS2000) are considered a definite asset.Knowledge of relevant Board policies and procedures, architectural, mechanical and electrical technology, relevant acts, regulations and by-laws, construction techniques and material selection.Understanding of construction practices and service related contracts.Knowledge of other computer applications, including spreadsheets (Excel), word-processing (Word), MS Project (for scheduling), databases, electronic mail system, and other graphical software such as Adobe Standard and/or Photoshop.Soft skills include: Interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written); Organization and time management skills; Initiative and judgment skills; Ability to work in a team environment, work independently and with minimal supervision.The successful candidate will also hold a Diploma in Architectural, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering Technician program, and a minimum of three years related experience is required (an equivalent combination of education and experience is also considered).A valid drivers license and access to a personal vehicle required for travel to school board sites.ApplicationProcess:Applications will beconsidered in accordance with the ESP Collective Agreement, in the followingorder:1.
