The office in Stoney Creek, Ontario is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Engineering Co-op Student to join the team for the Winter 2025 term. Why Join Our TeamA rewarding opportunity to work within the thriving construction industry providing well-rounded experience and exposure into the Engineering discipline.Summary of the Role:Reporting to the Area Manager, the Engineering Co-op Student will gain valuable experience in supporting, coordinating, and administering all field/site activities, such as: estimating, document control, procurement functions, and scheduling. There may also be some assistance required regarding QA/QC, and CAD drafting. Dependent on project needs, the Engineering Co-op Student may also assist with field related duties involving working directly on the job site.Key Responsibilities:

  • Be a direct support to the Area and Division Manager(s) in all related areas.
  • Assist with the assembly of estimates, supplier solicitation, and material takeoffs.
  • Log, track, and control flow of all documents for all orders and projects.
  • Assist with requisitions, expediting, and receiving of material and equipment.
  • Assist in developing layout plans and WBS #39;s based on SOW involved.
  • Assist in creating, monitoring, and updating field schedules while also determining earned value metrics.
  • Provide support in managing, organizing, and assembling QA/QC paperwork that is necessary for final customer turnover packages.
  • Provide support in field related administrative function
Key Requirements, Experience and Skills:
  • Current enrollment in a College or University Engineering Program.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office is required.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) are required.
  • Exposure to CAD design by use of AutoCAD and/or operation of other CAD software will be an asset.
  • Report writing skill and knowledge of preparing technical and/or engineering design reports is an asset.
  • Ability to apply engineering principles in real life situations.
  • Strong technical and trouble shooting skills
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and be able to work independently
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work well under time constraints
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) are required.
