There will be many different tasks from day to day, so we need someone with the right attitude and a broad skill set. You lead two estimators, lead estimating strategy, ensure competitive bidding, bid some work of your own, network with suppliers, clients and consultants, amongst other important tasks.We bid complete projects all over Ontario but primarily in the Golden Horseshoe, with our head office located in Stouffville, Ontario. You receive benefits, group RSP after 1 year, a company cell phone or allowance, competitive vacation and emergency days allotments, and an annual bonus based on corporate, departmental, and individual performance. Partial remote work for work-life balance is something else you can look forward to.QualificationsEmbody the values that our organization is built on and be motivated to contribute to our mission.Experience working in our industries: utilities, infrastructure, environmental, civil, earthworks and landscape construction.Understanding of a variety of work and materials types: heavy equipment, excavations, aggregates, concrete, site servicing, retaining walls, sewers, demolition, planting, erosion and sediment control, pavers, asphalt, and more.Experience and success developing and executing estimating strategy.Experience and success estimating construction projects.Experience and success managing people.Excellent record of customer service.Proven time management skills.Cultured team building and development skills.Sound networking and relationship management skills.Proficient with relevant software for estimating, take-offs and earthworks.Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.Other RequirementsA humble approach to learning and developing is required.An interest in variety and becoming an expert in multiple disciplines.Curiosity and fact-finding are essential. You are expected to function as a leader. Your direct reports are the estimators. You manage performance, conduct performance reviews and regular 1 on 1 meetings, you discipline and reward.
