Key responsibilities of the positioninclude: organizing and supervising grass cutting operations, turf maintenance, sports field maintenance, cemeterymaintenance, garbage collection, streetscape maintenance and associated flower planting and watering, trail maintenance,tree/shrub planting and pruning, park furniture/equipment inspection and general maintenance, naturalization programs,park washroom cleaning and supplies replenishing, outdoor ice rinks construction and flooding. This position will overseethe coordination of services-in-kind assistance for community and special events and snow removal for municipal facilityparking lots and walkways. They supervise contractor and contract administration for maintenance and constructionwork/projects, equipment and supplies, tenders/specifications, staff development, safety and the recruitment and orientationof seasonal staff and students. This position will also help develop procedures and communicate the implementation, assistwith policy and standards development, budget preparation and administration while providing input to forecasts and workplans. They will also coordinate repair of Parks fleet/equipment, ensure timely input to maintenance management program,and will provide back-up support to the Facilities Supervisor to assist with Building Maintenance as required/assigned.Qualifications and Requirements:
