Program Instructor 1 – Cooking (Seasonal) - Job # 2022-117-IEDepartment: Leisure and Community ServicesStatus: Part Time, SeasonalDate Posted: October 11, 2022Date Closing: October 19, 2022, 4:30 p.m.Number of Positions: 1Scheduled Hours/Shifts: Up to 24 hours per weekSalary: $25.31 - $28.47 per hourPosition Purpose: The Program Instructor is responsible for teaching and supervising recreational programs while ensuring a safe and clean environment; this includes program planning, ensuring successful program implementation, providing participants with ongoing feedback, completing participate evaluations as required, maintaining excellent customer service and public relations throughout the program, and maintaining statistical data (i.e., class lists, attendance, etc.).Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 months experience in a particular sports or recreational program area
  • Experience teaching any of the following age groups/demographics: preschool, child, youth, adult, older adult, or adapted
  • Experience leading programs
  • Current and valid certifications may be required.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Sound knowledge of program planning process and delivery
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to deal courteously and effectively with all levels of staff, program participants and the general public
  • Available to work flexible hours (evenings and weekends) as per program schedules
