That gratitude must be repaid with a steady application of honesty and reliability.Wellness for all remains front and center through culture and standards that go beyond the elements of our award-winning health & safety management system. If you love managing diverse construction projects and contributing to all matters of group success, then this is a terrific opportunity.Project SupervisorAs a Project Supervisor, you both manage and supervise your projects. You report to a Project Manager who supports you in the management of your projects. Reporting to you is the Site Supervisor and crew, and the project coordinator. At the management level; managing budgets, forecasting work, coordinating people, equipment, and materials, driving performance, managing and estimating change, and more. At the field level; troubleshooting challenges, ensuring layout and surveying accuracy, performing quality control, overseeing the full application of high health and safety standards, and anything else that leads to success. There are many different relationships and tasks to manage from day to day, so we need someone with the right attitude and a broad skill set. This is an opportunity with plenty of room for growth and promotion.Working With UsWe complete projects all over Ontario but primarily in the Golden Horseshoe, with our head office located in Stouffville, Ontario. We’re a service-oriented company that takes pride in building lasting, collaborative connections with all stakeholders. Getting it done isn’t good enough; we want to work together to find quality approaches and solutions to all the challenges of this industry. We take health and safety very seriously and we expect all our employees to prioritize a safe work environment. We provide additional training to make sure everyone stays safe. We work hard to maintain our COR designation. We focus on people and process and we seek out challenging, multi-disciplinary projects. This is where we find success. Success means a win for all people involved in the project and winning is what we do. We’re not afraid to celebrate our success: we have a great team, and we like to reward them with parties, bonuses, and fun events (like golf tournaments!) for all their hard work. The DetailsThis is a full-time, permanent position, with a starting salary between $70,000 and $95,000, based on ability and experience. That’s not all, Project Supervisors receive an annual bonus based on their projects’ profits and individual performance, a company vehicle or allowance, and a company cell phone or allowance, complete and flexible benefits, and a group RSP after 1 year of service. Partial remote work for work-life balance is something else you can look forward to.QualificationsEmbody the values that our organization is built on and be motivated to contribute to our mission.Experience managing construction projects and staff.Dedicated to superior health and safety standards.Excellent record of customer service.Cultured team building and development skills.Experience working in our industries: utilities, infrastructure, environmental, civil, earthworks and landscape construction.A proven record at working successfully with budgets.Proficient at blueprint reading, takeoffs, survey, and layout.Sound knowledge of aggregates, concrete, and asphalt.Experience performing and supervising site servicing.Estimating experience is a significant asset.Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.Other RequirementsA humble approach to learning and developing is required.Curiosity and fact-finding are essential. This is work and not projects, meaning that the subcontractors typically work along side our field forces. The skill set to coordinate, and lead subcontractors is crucial.Your vision of management in construction is evolved and you do not align with the stereotypical project environment that is adversarial and combative. We are a COR company. We obtained COR without any outside consultation. We have a true, internally crafted system in place, and everyone has a part in maintaining/improving it.
