Job Description

MUST HAVE REQUIREMENTS or IN THE PROCESS OF COMPLETING REQUIREMENTSPLEASE READ FIRST BEFORE APPLYING. CANDIDATES WITH MISSING DOCUMENTS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.This is a FT temporary position for a COOK TO assist with the necessary duties of the dietary team / dinning room of a Retirement Facility.This is an ideal role for someone who has experience in large quantity food preparation and washing dishes, preferably in retirement community or hospitality setting.The ideal candidate is able to work safely while understanding and accurately following guidelines, regulations, policies, and procedures. As a cooperative team player, the incumbent is able to communicate in a friendly and professional manner, while completing tasks in accordance with job routines and assigned timelines.The key responsibilities for this position will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Preparing food, including foods for therapeutic diets, for residents and guests during assigned shifts; this includes creating meals and baked goods from scratch as often as possible;
  • Ensuring that all prepared food is aesthetically pleasing and in accordance to the recipes/menus of the retirement community;
  • Keeping work area clean, safe, and uncluttered; completing scheduled cleaning duties;
  • General kitchen duties;
  • Other related duties, as assigned.
Requirements: - Recent police clearance check (VSC) - DONE WITHIN 6 MONTHS- Proof of FULL COVID-19 VACCINATION- Food Handlers Certificate or Food Service Worker- TB test results within 90 daysPlease submit resume for consideration or refer a friend!Job Types: Full-time, Part-timePart-time hours: 30-40 per weekSalary: $18.00-$23.55 per hourSchedule:

  • Stratford, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:
  • Cooking: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
  • Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (preferred)
