Job Description

Omex Manufacturing ULC located in Stratford, Ontario produces automotive parts for several major manufacturers, and our product portfolio includes a wide array of stamped, welded, and assembled components.*POSITION OVERVIEW: *The Maintenance Supervisor makes sure the organization maintains equipment regularly by creating maintenance schedules. Oversee trouble shooting and providing leadership for internal maintenance team and contacting and scheduling external contractors when required. Focuses on keeping existing equipment working well, increasing efficiency and preventing problems.*DUTIES OF THE JOB: *

  • Provide leadership, direction and guidance to maintenance personnel
  • Supervise, evaluate, motivate & train personnel to ensure work completed efficiently, effectively and safely.
  • Work in collaboration with department Supervisors
  • Read completed inspection forms to ensure all maintenance, repair and inspection tasks have been adequately completed by workers.
  • Ensure that safe conditions exist at all times within the work environment; take appropriate action to protect the health and safety of employees
  • Making detailed reports about the maintenance and repairs completed
  • Testing equipment for performance and compliance with safety regulations
  • Facility Maintenance (Compressors, HVAC, Fire Suppression, etc.)
  • Attend morning Production Priority Meetings
  • Monitor production shift report for opportunities requiring improvement
  • Define, document & control planned maintenance activities through the ERP system (ShopEdge)
  • Maintain all records for equipment including all mechanical, electrical, pneumatic & hydraulic systems. This will include manuals, drawings & schematics
  • Maintain work instructions for all critical tasks and change-overs
  • Ensure accurate notes are kept for future reference when troubleshooting; including timecards and work orders
  • Analyzes data to justify procedure changes or process modification
  • Supporting engineering & integrators during launch of new equipment
  • Identifying opportunities in existing manufacturing operations
  • Find solutions to problem areas in existing operations equipment & procedures
  • Problem solve and troubleshooting (in conjunction with tool room)
  • Drawing control
  • Other duties as assigned

*BACKGROUND AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: *
  • Skilled Trade license, College or University degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent; combination of work experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • Experience troubleshooting industrial automation, analytical and mechanical thinking.
  • Able to convert mechanical aptitude into practice (adjustment and fabrication)
  • Computer skills and proficient knowledge with Microsoft Office applications (MS Office, MS Project, Outlook, etc.)
  • Ability to read blueprints and use measuring devices (such as micrometers/calipers)
  • Proficiency with industry-standard design applications (eg. AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Catia) would be considered a strong asset.
  • Knowledge of IAFT 16949 and ISO 14001 programs
*ASSETS: *
  • Robotics Programing & Operation (Motoman, Fanuc, ABB)
  • Experience with welding process (GMAC & Resistance Welding)
  • Hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Experience with Keyence or Cognex vision systems
