Job Description

E1 Health is looking for a customer-facing individual who loves helping people. The Patient Transfer Attendant (Medical Transfer Attendant) will play a key role in the operations of E1 Health. This role entails driving patients between health care facilities, lifting, and taking care of each passenger with outstanding, attentive service.Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Drive a stretcher or wheelchair van
  • Help load a patient in a wheelchair or help lift a stretcher into the vehicle
  • Communicate with patients in a friendly, helpful manner
  • Practice safe, defensive driving
  • Communicate with company and healthcare staff
  • Assist with feeding on route if assistance is needed
  • Remind and assist patients to self-administer medications
  • Possibly assist with emptying a Foley catheter bag or established colostomy
Skills & Requirements:
  • Live near to Stratford General Hospital
  • Grade 12 OSSD or equivalent diploma
  • Valid G Ontario Drivers Licence
  • Clean Drivers Abstract
  • Clean police background check, no criminal record
  • Relevant patient care experience
  • Experience working in patient transport is an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Must possess solid organizational skills, be a self-starter, able to work with limited supervision, and be capable of handling multiple assignments concurrently
  • Possess good hygiene and cleanliness
  • Current immunization records
  • Ability to assist infirm and elderly passengers
  • Ability to help lift patients weighing up to 250lbs
  • Willingness to learn and improve
