POSTING DATE: June 16, 2022 POSITION # 327-22 (OPSEU)HURON PERTH HEALTHCARE ALLIANCENOTICE OF VACANCYREPOSTEDPOSITION: SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST – AdultPrimary site: Alliance WideCasualPOSITION SUMMARY:The Speech-Language Pathologist is concerned with communication, cognitive or swallowing disorders of adults; and often works as part of a team with other professionals to provide consultative and direct treatment services to the inpatient and outpatient populations. The Speech-Language Pathologist is responsible for counselling of clients and families, as well as for appropriate referrals to other professionals or services.REPORTS TO: Manager, Therapies & Professional PracticeDATE REQUIRED: As soon as possibleSALARY: $40.40 to $51.47 per hourQUALIFICATIONS: Master’s Degree or equivalent in Speech-Language Pathology A member of good standing of the College of Audiologists and Speech and Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO)EXPERIENCE: Clinical expertise and experience in stroke rehabilitation and demonstrated knowledge of current stroke rehabilitation best practices including management of dysphagia. Experience in both clinical and video fluoroscopic assessment of swallowing Experience with inpatient service delivery is an asset. Experience with critical care patients is an asset.ABILITIES:- Demonstrated ability to practice effectively in an interprofessional collaborative environment.- Working knowledge of and experience with theories and principles guiding adult learning and patient self-management approaches.- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, time management, problem-solving and innovation skills.- Proven flexibility and a high level of initiative.- Evidence of continued professional growth and/or professional development- Appreciation of resource utilization.- Computer skills, particularly Meditech, MS Office, and/or other software- A valid Ontario driver’s licenseAPPLICATIONS WILL BE RECEIVED UNTIL THE POSTING IS CLOSEDPlease be advised that we are no longer accepting emailed or paper-based resumes.
