Job Description

Omex Manufacturing, ULC located in Stratford, Ontario, produces automotive parts for several major manufacturers, and our product portfolio includes a wide array of stamped, welded, and assembled components.We are currently recruiting for a* Tool & Die Apprentice year 2/3* to join our rapidly expanding business. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain experience troubleshooting and maintaining several diverse manufacturing processes, including mechanical and servo presses, robotic weld cells, plastic injection molding machines, and automated assembly cells.*General Duties & Responsibilities: *

  • Investigate and participate in the prevention of problems/issues
  • Repairing and maintaining production equipment.
  • Troubleshooting equipment and process failures
  • Fit and assemble components, maintain, repair and calibrate precision
  • Installation and adjustment of new equipment or new parts.
  • Understanding and following safe working practices, including lockout and isolation procedures.
  • Use of personal protective equipment, as required.
  • Responsible for maintaining a tidy, clean, and safe work environment on the floor and in the maintenance / tool room.
  • Contributing toward improving the maintenance system and associated procedures.
*Qualifications: *
  • Working towards a Tool and Die Ticket
  • Experience or knowledge with automated gas-metal arc welding (GMAW).
  • Experience or knowledge with robotics
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and charts
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong team player, able to interact with all levels within the organization.
  • Proficient in both Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Able to read and understand equipment drawings and manuals.
*Additional Qualifications: *
  • Past experience with preventative maintenance software.
  • Past experience in a high-volume stamping and assembly environment.

  • Shift Premium - $1.00 per hr. Afternoons
  • Shift Premium - $1.50 per hr. Midnights
  • Paid breaks
  • Overtime pay after 40 hours
