NFS is a provincial service that is committed to providing nutritious, healthy, high quality meal service to patients, residents, staff, visitors and the community. This position will be accountable for performing a variety of tasks to ensure a quality patient, resident and customer experience. Under the general supervision of a Food Services Supervisor, they will use strong customer service, teamwork and organizational skills to: Prepare, handle, portion and package food and beverages. Assemble trays in the kitchen. Provide patient meal delivery and pick up. Safely operate and clean industrial food service equipment. Adhere to safety, sanitation, and food preparation standards in accordance with AHS policies and guidelines. Complete other food service duties as assigned. Please note, this facility provides Long Term Care (LTC) or Designated Supportive Living (DSL) services and by Order of the Chief Medical Officer of Health, many AHS employees are restricted to work only at a single LTC/DSL site for the remainder of the pandemic. Speak to the hiring manager who will confirm if, as the successful candidate in this position, you will be restricted to work at only one LTC/DLS site in Alberta.Description:As a Food Service I, you will be responsible for performing a variety of routine tasks associated with basic food preparation in accordance with AHS standards and procedures. Food service experience. Experience in a hospital or long term care environment. Experience with inventory management; receiving deliveries, managing expiry dates and minimizing waste while utilizing “First in- First Out” procedures. Experience with Industrial Food Service Equipment. Food Safe Certificate or equivalent. WHMIS training.
