Your Opportunity:The Nursing Attendant provides resident care services as an unregulated worker, under the direct supervision of the RN or LPN. As a member of our nursing team, you will demonstrate genuine interest and respect for our residents and utilize your knowledge, skills and abilities to competently provide direct care to our residents. Resident care includes assisting with activities of daily living and other nursing related activities. Myron Thompson Health Centre is in a rural community in west central Alberta. We work in a multidisciplinary team to provide nursing care in a blended acute/ER and continuing care environment. The Myron Thompson Health Centre is an intimate team environment providing care with 14 acute care beds, 5 long-term care beds, 4 restorative care beds and a five stretcher emergency department. We serve the Town of Sundre Alberta http://www.sundre.com/ , https://www.youtube.com/watchv=hsqd4FBKwFg and the surrounding rural districts of Mountain View County http://www.mountainviewcounty.com/ and Clearwater County http://www.clearwatercounty.ca/ The place of work is in a community designated for Canada Student Loan forgiveness. You may be eligible for Canada Student Loan forgiveness if you meet other eligibility requirements. Please note, this facility provides Long Term Care (LTC) or Designated Supportive Living (DSL) services and by Order of the Chief Medical Officer of Health, many AHS employees are restricted to work only at a single LTC/DSL site for the remainder of the pandemic. Speak to the hiring manager who will confirm if, as the successful candidate in this position, you will be restricted to work at only one LTC/DLS site in Alberta.Description:As a Health Care Aide (HCA), you are responsible for providing personal assistance, supporting activities of daily living and providing comfort and support services to patients (clients, residents) who require short-term assistance or ongoing support. You will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers spanning the continuum of care in home, community or health care facilities. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
