Job Description

Do you want to grow with us Wiseworth Canada is looking to hire an Apprentice Field Service Technician to join our award-winning customer service team in the BC Lower Mainland region.Field Service Technicians serve our customers by installing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing various makes of rotary screw, reciprocating, and compressed natural gas air compressors, as well as associated air system components. Responsible for keeping industrial air compressors and control systems running correctly. Check in with each customer on site and keep in communication regarding job requirements, safety guidelines, scope of work, additional findings, cost, and completion time. Job sites must always be left clean and neat. Service trucks are specially assigned to each service technician. The service truck must be kept clean, organized, and inventoried. Must always practice safe driving. Participation in safety meetings and safety training is required and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must always be worn. Will work directly with our customers, vendors, and co-workers to develop and sustain a positive relationship.We will provide all training necessary to become an Ingersoll Rand Certified Industrial Air Compressor Field Service Technician.   • Entry level position working closely with our service department, our field service team, and our inside sales and shipping department.
  • Assist with compressor room installations, pipe system installations, and basic in-shop mechanical work and activities.
  • Assist with in-shop mechanical repairs, and other miscellaneous tasks.
  • Paint booth duties including prepping and painting air receiver tanks and associated equipment.
  • Organization and cleaning of service shop, shipping warehouse, parts room, and associated areas.
  • Material handling of items using carts, pallet jacks, and forklifts.
  • Support for general shipping and receiving duties.
  • Meet delivery trucks to receive and send shipments.
  • Handle order pick-lists and gather stocked items.
  • Quality check orders to ensure quantities, destination, and routing are correct.
  • Tag and label merchandise appropriately.
  • Prepare shipping documentation, package and load product correctly.
  • Examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages & document irregularities.
  • Unload, unpack, verify and receive items against purchase orders.
  • Receive incoming shipments into our inventory system and verify accuracy of shipment.
  • Stocking of items numerically, and according to size, shape, and type. Sort and place stock on racks, shelves or in bins
  • Participate in regularly scheduled inventory counts and cycle counts.
  • Assist with site safety inspections and associated corrective measures.
  • Adhere to all required safety standards and procedures.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma. Post secondary and/or related work experience preferred.
  • No criminal record.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with no major traffic violations, suspensions, or DUI’s in previous 5 years.
  • Previous forklift operation experience/certification preferred.
  • Overhead crane experience is an asset.
  • Sprinkler fitting or piping installation experience is an asset.
  • Ability to multitask and assist wherever needed on a daily basis.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to complete packing labels and associated documentation in a legible manner.
  • Tech savvy. Working proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Word, Outlook.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail in handling frequent paperwork and documentation processes.
  • This position is highly physical and requires regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, reaching, lifting, and kneeling.
  • Good physical ability to move moderately heavy and/or bulky material. Will regularly lift or move up to 25 lbs. frequently lift or move up to 50 lbs. and occasionally lift or move more than 75 lbs. unassisted.
  • Use of basic tools and equipment.
  • Position requires working in varied conditions including a mechanical service shop, shipping warehouse, parts storage room, with exposure to noisy operating equipment, hot and cold weather conditions, and requires the use of ladders and aerial platforms.
  • Employees must adhere to all associated Workplace Health and Safety Program Standards and PPE requirements which may include being clean shaven for some customer sites.
