Job Description

Guildford Golf Club is a forward thinking, ambitious and friendly Private Members’ Club founded in 1886. The Club has recently heavily invested in machinery and infrastructure in its continued strive to improve upon what is already one of the best downland courses in the region. Sited on Merrow Downs – an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The views are exceptional, from Guildford Cathedral to the Wembley Arch and Canary Wharf, with panoramic vistas of the Surrey Hills.The applicant will have:

  • A minimum of 2 years greenkeeping experience preferred, but not essential
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a can do attitude
  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Sports Turf Maintenance or working towards it
  • A sound knowledge in the operation of modern greenkeeping equipment
  • A willingness to learn and develop, and achieve additional industry related qualifications
  • An understanding of Health and Safety
  • Good time management
  • An ability to work well as part of a team and on their own
  • The ability to play golf
  • A full driving licence
  • Spraying and Chainsaw certificates are desirable but not essential
The successful candidate can expect:
  • A competitive salary commensurate with qualifications. £25,000 plus overtime dependant on skills and experience
