The successful candidate will be required to teach the following course[s] via either in-class or fully-online delivery in support of a number of School of Business programs:

  • BUQU 1130 Business Mathematics
  • BUQU 1230 Business Statistics
  • BUQU 3230 Applied Decision Analysis
Business quantitative courses help students acquire the analytical, technological and problem solving skills they will need to solve real world business problems and better understand personal finance and business decision-making. All faculty can expect to primarily teach BUQU 1130 (business mathematics) and BUQU 1230 (business statistics) which serve as preparatory courses for more advanced courses in other disciplines throughout the School of Business.This role requires comfort in classroom teaching and hands on demonstrations of computer enabled applications in statistics and finance. In particular BUQU instructors will be comfortable teaching the use of Microsoft Excel to perform statistical functions ranging from basic descriptive statistics to the beginnings of multiple regression.Demonstrated excellence in collaborative curriculum development, course design and delivery in face-to-face, blended and online learning environments is an asset, as is completion of a recognized intercultural teaching program.The ideal candidate works well in a team environment, including building and maintaining positive, collaborative, and effective working relationships with colleagues, students, and external partners.For more information about the BUQU courses, please go to https://calendar.kpu.ca/courses-az/buqu/.The School of Business offers courses online as well as in-person, with in-person classes provided on all five campuses of Kwantlen Polytechnic University [Richmond, Surrey, Cloverdale, Surrey Civic Plaza and Langley].   • Masters required, Ph.D. preferred.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with a record of teaching excellence at the post-secondary level.
o Applicants with a masters should have at least three years of experience teaching business quantitative methods at the post-secondary level
  • Preference will be given to candidates with a minimum of three years of professional experience directly related to business quantitative methods.
