Employment StatusUnion - CUPE Local 402 - Term (1 year)ScopeThe City of Surrey has a Clerk Typist 3 position within the Planning and Development Department – Administration Division where the primary focus will be on providing administrative support to the Building Team. Work at this level will require independent judgement and initiative within defined guidelines.ResponsibilitiesCoordinates Inspections Prepares Word processes reports; draft letters Files Research Checks AMANDA Files, keeps records and collects and inputs data Answers phones, e-mails. Operates office equipment, such as PC, Word Processors, photocopy and fax machines Provides information to others, traces errors, corrects deviations from policy, answers inquiries and complaints from the public and staff Process community care applications Assists other staff in performing their duties Web editing (internal and external) Checks, balances, and maintains accounts and other records. Prepares and posts schedules, signs up notices and charts. Performs related duties as requiredQualificationsCompleted grade 12 supplemented by several courses in word processing, office practices and PC office applications. A minimum of two (2) years’ experience and training in an office environment and some supervisory experience A minimum of 60 wpm typing speed is required. An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience will be considered.
