Responsibilities:

  • Performs computer data entry and processing such as inputting and printing diet-related information into a nutritional software program; generates meal tickets, tallies and reports.
  • Process requisitions for supplies by itemizing supplies ordered and following established procedures for costing; submit charges to Finance based on billing schedules for billing to other departments and/or outside agencies; performs basic calculations and prepares summary reports as required.
  • Types a variety of materials such as memos, minutes, related documents correspondence, reports, billings and documents from drafts or revisions.
  • Performs reception duties such as answering incoming calls, taking messages or referring as appropriate, greeting visitors and patients; receives, sorts and distributes internal mail; takes minutes or notes of meetings at department meetings and transcribes, as required.
  • Maintains an office inventory of stationary supplies and printed forms by preparing requisitions as required; reports problems with the operation of equipment to the Manager.
  • Receives goods from suppliers into a computerized system; contacts Purchasing or suppliers if there are problems with deliveries; maintains orders forms; orders goods from suppliers when necessary.
  • Compiles department workload statistics and generates related reports, as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Education and ExperienceGrade 12, plus one (1) year of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to type 50 wpm
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
