Role:Engineering Co-opReporting to:Chris CaskeyDivision:MineralsBusiness Unit:Weir Minerals CanadaWork location:MississaugaCountry:CanadaManage Others:NoDepartment:EngineeringBusiness Need / Purpose of Role:This position is for a co-op or internship engineering student currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in mechanical engineering.The Engineering Co-op will be supporting the Weir Minerals Canada Hose and Pipe Engineering group with technical documentation, basic engineering design, calculations and project tasks, mainly related to custom engineered high pressure hoses and rubber lined pipe (up to 48” ID and 750 psi).The Weir Hose and Pipe group is a recognized industry leader in engineering for slurry pipelines and works on a variety of challenging, high value engineering projects. This position requires an ambitious, adaptable, self-motivated student, who is interested in challenging, high value work in a fast passed industry.The candidate will have the opportunity to learn “hands on” engineering from key engineering staff at Weir.
