Job Description

America Fujikura Limited (AFL) is looking for YOU, a talented, driven, passionate Human Resources Advisor (Maternity Leave - Temporary) with strong problem-solving skills.If you are interested, join our Human Resources team, and help us to make a difference which directly impacts the success of AFL and ultimately creates better outcomes for our team membersHere’s the impact you’ll make and what we’ll accomplish together

  • Act as a trusted advisor, consultant, project manager and change agent,
  • Develops and executes employee relations and culture development plans and provides guidance and best practices,
  • Provide leadership and coaching to managers and team members on key workplace matters such as performance management, difficult conversations, employee relations, disability management, and employee development,
  • Manage and continuously improve performance review and assist team members and managers in development planning,
  • Acts as a business partner to AFL managers and serves as a change agent to implement best practices,
  • Provide a highly effective and timely recruiting process including support hiring managers in determining staffing requirements and administer recruitment process (including on-boarding new hires),
  • Participates in large scale ad-hoc HR projects.
Education/Experience:
  • Degree or diploma in business administration, human resources management, or a related field required.
  • Certification in human resources management preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in a human resources specialist or generalist position.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet strategic objectives for HR and the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage HR core processes such as talent management, succession planning, disability management, and employee relations.
  • Able to make sound business decisions and evidence-based recommendations to management.
  • Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills as well as presentation skills.
  • Sound leadership, staff management, and teambuilding skills.
  • Computer literacy, including effective working skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required.
  • Able to interpret and implement employment related legislation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Canada Labour Code, Employment Standard act, and Human Right Regulations.
Work Location, Condition, and Work Hours:
  • Normal office environment
  • Minimal travel may be required
  • General hours of Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm. Occasional weekend or longer hours.
