Over the years, through our focused continuous improvement initiative, we have kept abreast of the technological advancements in the industry. Today, Columbia Plastics is recognized not only for the variety of services that we offer our customers (from design review, mold design and build, value-added operations, to final product packaging, etc.) but also for being the first Clean Room (ISO Class 7 (10,000)) molder in Western Canada, serving the Pacific Northwest community and Western Canada. Our customers come from a wide range of industries including medical/dental devices manufacturing, electronics, agricultural, industrial, commercial, and mining, to name a few.The role is required to maintain the control of processes in injection molding, including component changes, equipment setups, and start-ups. The Injection Molding Process Manager Technician will directly report to the team leader.Responsibilities include:

  • First commissioning of new injection molding tools.
  • Monitor production and develop production processes, plans, and schedules.
  • Develop manufacturing and processing procedures.
  • Machine start-ups and troubleshooting.
  • Mold changes, install, and set-up.
  • Care and handling of all molds and tooling.
  • Collect and analyze production samples and ensure quality control standards.
  • Practice procedures in the ISO quality system with reference to ISO 9000 and ISO 13485.
  • Operate forklift and gantry.
Qualifications:
  • 5 plus years of experience setting up injection molds.
  • Education and apprenticeship in a related discipline.
  • Experience with tools and measuring devices.
  • Experience operating forklifts and gantries.
  • Reasonable English skills for training and safety.
  • Able to learn and apply quality procedures for ISO 9000 and ISO 13485.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing concepts and practices.
  • Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods, lift, bend, turn, etc.
