Job Description

IT Specialist Job SummaryMaintain and administer desktops, laptops, servers and network systems for multiple clients. The candidate will be responsible to install, configure, manage, upgrade, and troubleshoot IT hardware, software, and networking components, as well as ensure all computing operations are running with optimal performance, security, and efficiency of IT infrastructure. The candidate will be required to follow service management best practices for planning and managing service capacity, availability, and operations.Duties and Responsibilities

  • Setup, install and manage end user devices such as laptops, desktops, telephones, printers, scanners, telephone systems, monitors etc for multiple clients.
  • Provide support for end user devices, network devices and servers onsite and remotely for multiple clients.
  • Monitor and action support requests and incidents logged by clients via telephone, email or in the support portal.
  • Install and provide regular support on Windows OS and Mac OS systems and all standard business applications such as Microsoft Office, Teams, Zoom, Adobe, Anti-virus, VPN software’s, endpoint protection etc.
  • Manage Active Directory, Azure Active directory and O365 mailbox.
  • Monitor and ensure stability, security, availability, and scalability of installed Windows and Mac
OS systems.
  • Monitor regular backups and end point device protection.
  • Maintaining asset inventory for desktop, telephones, network devices, servers etc.
  • Ensure strict control on user’s access, server access rights, VPN, and file-sharing services in line with IT policies and procedures.
  • Monitor availability and daily performance of systems and servers, troubleshoot issues and escalate if required.
  • Documents all customer interactions and troubleshooting steps in the ticketing system to allow for monitoring and reporting.
  • Follow incident response processes for reporting incidents, analysing and documenting RCA for
Major incidents, escalating it and reporting.
  • Conduct periodical capacity reviews for desktops, servers and network resources to identify upgrade needs. Plan and execute installation, upgrade, and patching activities ensuring coordination with business owners, downtime approvals, coordinating backup and recovery activities to ensure business continuity.
  • Perform any other duties related to the job as assigned by the Line Manager.
QualificationsMinimum Education Required:
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in IT/ Information systems / Computer Science or its equivalent
  • Preferably Microsoft Certified, CCNA, ITIL, or Azure Certified
Minimum Experience Required:
  • 2 to 4 years of experience
Job Types: Full-time, PermanentSalary: $20.00-$25.00 per hourSchedule:
  • Monday to Friday
  • Morning shift

  • Surrey, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
